Cr Tony Herbert was elected Warrnambool Mayor at the Council meeting held on October 29, 2018.

"I'd like to pay particular tribute to you Rob as the outgoing mayor, thank you for your leadership this year and I know you were there to support me," Cr Herbert said.

"I also feel it's fitting to thank Bruce (Anson, chief executive officer) for his many years of service to the Warrnambool community.

"Being elected mayor is such a privilege to have the support of my fellow councillors. I commit to working with you, supporting each of you to achieving outcomes for the community.

"It is my firm belief that we are best when we harness the collective talents of us and I intend to do this.

"We share in many things but above all a commitment and passion to contribute to our community and I hope this is a hallmark of my term as mayor."
