Gahnia filum

A tussock forming perennial with flat grassy leaves and brown flower spikes in spring and summer that grows up to 1.5 metres tall. This sedge will grow in full sun in moist, sandy soils and will tolerate salty or brackish habitats along coastal creeks and river edges. It will provide habitat was water birds and is a caterpillar food source.
