Golden Everlasting

Xerochrysum bracteatum

An annual or perennial wildflower with soft mid green hairy leaves and stems and shiny bright golden yellow daisy flowers most of the year that grows to 0.6 metres tall. This wildflower prefers dry well drained soil in full sun to semi-shade and responds well to tip pruning to help keep it compact. It is a fantastic daisy for most well drained gardens, particularly cottage gardens and rockeries and attracts butterflies, providing both food for caterpillars and nectar for butterflies. The flowers are used in floral work and can be dried for long lasting flowers that don't require water.
